Furniture sale will support key service

A community scheme that helps adults with learning difficulties acquire new skills is holding a furniture sale on Saturday 16 November, the proceeds from which will be reinvested back into this important service.

The sale will take place in the Tynedale Centre on Haugh Lane Industrial Estate in Hexham between 10am and 4pm, providing a fantastic opportunity to pick up some bargain items.

On sale will be reclaimed and restored antique and pre-loved furniture. This will include tables, chairs, dressers, chests of drawers and one off quirky pieces, all lovingly restored and on offer at a competitive price.

Northumberland County Council runs eight learning day centres where staff help over 170 adults with learning disabilities acquire new skills.

Cllr Veronica Jones cabinet member with responsibility for adult wellbeing and health at the county council said:  “A lot of time, effort and pride has gone into making the products for this sale.

“Please do call in and have a look around if you are able to. I am sure there will be some excellent pieces to acquire.”

The sale will take place at the Tynedale Centre, Unit 13, Haugh Lane Industrial Estate, Hexham, NE46 3PU.
