Views sought on services for families in Northumberland

If you or your family have attended a children’s centre in Northumberland - or received support from the early help family team - then the council wants to hear from you.

Northumberland County Council carries out a satisfaction survey each year - to find out what aspects of services have been particularly valued, and where improvements could be made.

The survey asks about services at children’s centres, for youngsters from birth to five years, and about early help services - which can be accessed by families with children and young people up to the age of 19.

Cllr Wayne Daley, cabinet member for children’s services at Northumberland County Council said:  “We want all children in Northumberland to be healthy, safe and cared for - and to have the best possible start in life.

“We know that the needs of parents and the family environment have a significant
impact on the life chances of a child therefore we aim for our services to take account of the whole family’s needs.

“The information that parents and carers can provide helps us to make sure that our services are the right ones to support families, and ensure that we can plan ahead and deliver services that match needs.

“We would also be pleased to hear from families which don’t currently use our services - telling us how we could help them.”

The council works with partners in the NHS, schools and the voluntary sector to make sure that young people and their families who need support receive the right intervention as early as possible to tackle problems and prevent issues escalating.
