Town centre building work nears completion

Work is nearing completion to bring a Morpeth town centre building back into use.

The former RAFA Club building on Wellway, known as Elm House, is being converted into a new fine dining restaurant, and is due to open later this year.

Members of Morpeth Forum, a partnership between the county and town council, visited the refurbished building to see first hand the progress which has been made.

Councillor Richard Wearmouth, Northumberland County Council Cabinet member for Economic Development, said: “Throughout our engagement events people have told us they want buildings to be occupied and brought into good use and it’s great to see ongoing regeneration in the town.

“The Forum were very impressed by the high quality conversion which provides fantastic views across Morpeth and we look forward to it becoming another successful addition to the town.”
