Deadline looming for postal and proxy voting

If you want to apply to vote by post, or by proxy  at the forthcoming Police and Crime Commissioner Election on Thursday July 18, you’ll need to be quick as the deadline to submit an application form is  looming.

If you are not already a postal or proxy voter and would like to give it a try, there are statutory deadlines which you need to adhere to.  For a postal vote, or changes to your existing postal or proxy vote you will need to complete and return your application form by 5pm July 3. For a proxy vote  (where you get someone to vote on your behalf) this deadline is 5pm on 10th July.

You can download these application forms from the website: www.yourvotematters.co.uk, or  alternately you can contact the council’s electoral service team to request an application form by :
Choosing to vote by post or by proxy  saves a trip to the polling station so can be  particularly helpful for the elderly and infirm, those  living in a remote rural area and for those who may be working, or away on polling day.
