Nomination deadline looming for disability sport awards

Organisers of the The North East Disability Sports Awards scheme are appealing to the public to put individuals and organisations forward for a prize, but you’ll have to hurry as nominations are set to close on Sunday January 20.

Nominations for the 2019 awards can be made at www.nedsa.co.uk or you can contact Kaye Scott on 01670 623517 for a nomination form

The awards, now in their 17th year,  celebrate the fantastic achievements that local athletes, coaches and clubs make to disability sport across the region each year.
They are organised by the four North East County Sport Partnerships – including Northumberland Sport. Active Northumberland is a category sponsor.
There are ten categories: Performance categories include male and female personality, young male and young female achiever and team and coach of the year. There are also awards for service to sport, participation and schools and clubs.
Speaking about the upcoming awards, Lee Sprudd, Executive Director at Northumberland Sport said “The awards are a fantastic way to highlight the successes of our region’s sporting stars. We are looking forward to celebrating some very talented sports people and recognising the excellent opportunities being provided by our community sports clubs. It’s great to have the opportunity to honour their achievements.”
The award ceremony will take place at Kingston Park, Newcastle on Thursday 14th March 2019.
