EVENT CANCELLED

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control, this event is cancelled. We appologiese for any inconvenience caused.

The popular Continental Street Market event is on its way to Hexham.

From Friday 30 August  to Sunday 1 September Hexham Market Place  will be transformed when a range of international themed traders, selling food, drink and craft products, will make it their home for a few days.

Foodies will be treated to an array of aromas from freshly prepared, mouth-watering continental food with tasty treats  such as Greek Gyros and Thai noodles, olives, Baklava and flavoured cheeses. There will also be a range of quirky and unusual craft items that you won’t find on the high street.

The market will be open for business from 10 am - 6pm each day except on Sunday when the market  will be open 10am - 4pm.

The Continental Street Market is currently  travelling the length and breadth of the UK as part of its 2019 tour with over 50 events running throughout the year.

Northumberland County Councillor Glen Sanderson, cabinet member for local services said:

“ I would encourage anyone who has the time to pop along to the market, and see what there is on offer – I’m sure they won’t be disappointed.  With so much choice, there’s bound to be something for everyone to enjoy at this family friendly event!”

Hexham County Councillor Cath Homer said:

“ Events like this attract more people to the area and increase footfall in the town.  The Market gives shoppers the chance to get their hands on something different and sample a bit of foreign culture. I’m sure there will be a fantastic atmosphere.”
