Easter fun with Northumberland libraries

Monday 8th April marks the start of the school Easter holidays and libraries across Northumberland are running lots of great events to keep children entertained.

Love animals?  Then come along to Hexham Library on the 9th April to receive a free activity pack and to find out about the ‘Restoring Ratty’ Project taking place in Kielder.  This interactive talk with Kelly Hollings, an officer from the project, will tell you all there is to know about water voles, where to see them and how to get involved in releasing them back into the wild.

In addition, Hexham Library are also offering a workshop of bee themed activities on 10th April, a Hedgehogs and Fairy Houses event on the 11th and you can help celebrate the 30th anniversary of Michael Rosen’s much loved classic ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by making props and instruments and re enacting the story around the library on the 17th.

Cramlington Library invites you to go on a treasure hunt and join in the fun by making paper plate bunny bags and Easter decorations on the 11th April.

Blyth Library would like your help on the 12th to make rabbit and chick bookmarks, play a game of Hook-a-Duck and find the bunnies hidden around the library.

Many more events are taking place around the County - see what is on at a library near you!
