Hexham Market Place is set to host a special market, showcasing all that is great about local produce in Northumberland.
From 10am to 2pm on Wednesday 12 September traders will present products from around the county in the town’s market place.
Whether it’s locally produced jam, liqueur or cheese you like, or you want to try out Northumberland honey or local beers, you’ll love this special market event
Goods sold under the banner of the widely acclaimed ‘Produced in Northumberland’ a scheme run and managed by Northumberland County Council, are all authentic to the county.
The scheme promotes the use and sale of local products by companies across Northumberland, supports local businesses and reduces your food miles
It currently has 83 members ranging from manufacturers of food and drink, small scale producers, hotels, restaurants and retail, as well as B&Bs and guest houses.
Products marked with the ‘Produced in Northumberland’ logo are guaranteed through annual verification audits by council trading standards and environmental health officers.
Traders at this special showcase market in Hexham will be from Produced in Northumberland but also from Hexham and Morpeth Farmers Markets, as well as Hexham’s regular Tuesday and Shambles market traders.
Goods at farmers’ market stalls are produced within a 50 miles radius of the market and the produce grown, reared or processed by the stallholder.
Residents and visitors will be welcomed along on Wednesday 12th to buy products and celebrate everything that is great about Northumberland.
