Northumberland Council provided summer of fun for local children

Northumberland County Council ensured over one hundred school children from Blyth and Hadston enjoyed a fantastic summer holiday with a range of activities and entertainment.
In partnership with Children North East, local organisations Leading Link and Off The Grid, Northumberland County Council provided a summer of activities for children aged between 5 and 14 hosted at Bede Academy and Red Row Pavillion.
The summer programme included team building,day trips to Seven Stories, Chinatown, Alnwick Castle, and Woodhorn, art and craft sessions and multi sport activities, along with breakfast and lunch!
Wayne Daley, cabinet member with responsibility for children’s services said: “We are proud to have supported this programme for local children, providing them with a range of fun activities for them to take part in throughout the summer holidays.
“The aim of the programme is to allow the children to make some great memories, meet new friends and possibly even inspire them to try something new and ignite new interests in them.
“This has been such a success that we are looking to set this up again for next summer.”
