Darras Hall Primary School opening its doors for new school term

Following a £5.8m investment, the new Darras Hall Primary School is set to open its doors for pupils starting the new term in September.
The building features new, state of the art facilities including; 15 classrooms, learning streets on both the ground and first floor, two multi use studios and hall which can be used for both school and community events, a library and reading area, an outside classroom and a wildlife and garden area for the children to grow their own vegetables. The school is also set to have a playing field and multi use outdoor play area, due for completion in November.
Wayne Daley, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “We are delighted with this new school building which has created a great learning and teaching environment for staff and pupils.
“The features within the school provide a range of learning spaces for the children including classroom space, creative areas, music studio and outdoor spaces for learning, playing and exploring.
“The investment into Darras Hall Primary School is part of a wider £57m investment into the education and leisure facilities across Ponteland which will also include a new leisure centre, library and secondary school.”
