Digital support on offer as Universal Credit rolls out

Universal Credit Full Service is being rolled out by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) across Northumberland over the next two months, and Northumberland County Council are working closely with local Housing Providers, Citizens Advice Northumberland, the DWP and other key local agencies to ensure residents receive any support and advice they need during this change.
Working age residents on existing means tested benefits and Tax Credits will only be affected if their circumstances change or they choose to make a new claim
for Universal Credit.
Universal Credit will be launched in two phases with the first starting on Wednesday 7th November, affecting Ashington, Berwick, Cramlington and Morpeth. The final phase will commence on 12th December for residents in Alnwick, Bedlington, Blyth and Hexham.
Northumberland County Council Customer Services are offering digital support and Citizens Advice Northumberland are providing budgeting advice to residents who are affected by the change. To find out where your nearest help centre is visit www.northumberland.gov.uk/UC
