Representatives from community and voluntary organisations across the county are invited to attend an event to find out more about a new community based approach that will help to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents.
Northumberland County Council, in partnership with Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, would like to share information about the new Northumberland Empowering Communities Project and seek views on how to maximise the effectiveness of the new initiative.
Central to the scheme will be the employment of five new Locality Coordinators to be based in each of the five local area council areas (localities). They will work within their localities to help communities identify their priorities and map out the assets within communities: the knowledge, skills, groups, networks and services. This information can then be used to develop new and existing assets, and link people to them.
Whilst Northumbria Healthcare Trust will retain the responsibility for employing each Locality Coordinator, it is hoped that a voluntary organisation in each locality will come forward to host a Locality Coordinator and support the delivery of this work.
The event will take place on Tuesday 5th June 2018, 9.30am to 12pm at Morpeth Rugby Club. In order to book a place at this event, please click here
to register by Friday 1st June.
