Landlords and agents based in Northumberland are being invited to a forum being organised by Northumberland County Council.
The free event, will be held at Blyth Civic Centre, Renwick Road, on Tuesday 26 June 5.15pm to 7.15pm. It aims to update landlords on any new legislation, highlight any industry issues and demonstrate the services on offer to landlords from the council.
The forum is a partnership between Northumberland County Council, private landlords and letting agents working in the private rented sector to share information and ideas and promote the views of private landlords in contributing to the improvement of the County’s housing.
There will be presentations from the DWP regarding Universal Credit updates and from Jackson's Law regarding the new GDPR laws. A member of the council’s Environmental Health team will also be attending to talk briefly about the new Housing in Multiple Occupation licensing criteria. As always there will be the opportunity to network with other landlords and Northumberland County Council Staff.
The council will also give an update on the services it can offer to landlords, including a free accreditation service and training courses.
Julie Young, Strategic Housing Manager at Northumberland County Council, said: “This event is a key date for landlords from across the county. It will give them essential industry information, as well as allowing them the opportunity to meet up with other landlords.”
