Dog fines pay for dog rescue charity calendar

A charity calendar featuring 12 of the many dogs rescued in Northumberland is now available.

An annual calendar featuring dogs that have been rescued by Northumberland County Council’s animal welfare team and partner charities will raise money for four animal charities across the county.

As in past years, the calendar has been funded by the fines collected for dog fouling offences in Northumberland and 100% of the proceeds will go to four animal charities including Dogs Trust, Shak, Alexa’s Animals and B.A.R.K.

Councillor Liz Simpson, deputy business chair at Northumberland County Council said: "I'm delighted once again to introduce our annual Rescued Dogs Calendar that shows 12 of the many dogs that were rescued by our animal welfare team & partner charities during the year"

The calendars are available for a minimum donation of £3.99 from council information centres or by contacting the animal welfare team on 0845 600 6400.

Dog fouling problems can be reported to the council by filling in an online form by visiting and searching ‘dog foulding’ or by calling 0345 600 6400.
