Free gardening workshop for families

Families with young children are invited to take part in a free gardening workshop, at Hepscott Park, near Morpeth.

The workshop will give youngsters the chance to learn the basics of gardening by sowing seeds and making sock animals that ‘grow hair’ when filled with grass-seeded compost.

Two sessions will be held at the Horticultural Skills Unit, run by Northumberland County Council, on Tuesday 5 April (10.30am-12pm and 1pm-2.30pm).

No booking is required and children of all ages are welcome to attend, so long as they have a grown up with them.

A range of plants grown by service users will also be available to buy and refreshments will be available at the Hepscott Park Garden Cafe.

For further information, please contact Pamela Robson at the Horticultural Skills Unit, on 01670 623 911.
