The progressive restoration of Eastwoods Park in West Wylam started in 2016 and has seen a number of improvements since then.

Following community consultation in 2016 and the success of the new play area being installed in late 2017, the site has been in a state of continuous improvement ever since. This has resulted in success in the Green Flag award since 2020.

Northumberland County Council has  worked with the football club to extend and improve the football facilities at the old cricket pavilion which is now managed by Prudhoe Youth Club FC as their home venue.

Friends of Eastwood Park have also been working with Northumberland County Council to renovate the old bowls pavilion which was built in 1979 but had been vacant for 20 years. This work enabled the Friends of Group to redecorate the building, open a community cafe, and bring in donations and grant money to support their work in the park and wider community of West Wylam.

More recently a wide all-weather path around the whole site has been installed by the County Council with support from Thompsons of Prudhoe Ltd to improve access on site. It’s just one of a range of park improvements across the county  commemorating the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II, reflecting the late Monarch's love of the outdoors and the countryside. This joins the Elizabeth Beacon, installed by the Friends of the Park the previous year, which is used as a focus for celebration events.
