Library Christmas and New Year Opening Times

 Most libraries will be closed over the Christmas period and reopen as usual on Tuesday 2 January 2024 or their next scheduled working day.

The hub libraries listed below will be open in between Christmas and New Year.

  • Ashington Library, Newbiggin Library and Ponteland Library will also be open on a self-service basis where library members will be able to use the kiosks to issue and return items during leisure centre opening times.
  • Morpeth Library will also be open on a self-service basis on Sunday 24 December, 8am - 12pm and Sunday 31 December, 8am - 12pm.
  • Mobile Libraries will stop operating after Friday 22 December with the first date of operation after Christmas being Tuesday 2 January.

Our digital library is never closed! Why not take a look at our selection of eBooks or have a story read to you using our eAudio collection which is available 24/7. All you need is your library card and PIN to download eBooks,eAudio and eMagazines with BorrowBox or PressReader if you want newspapers and magazines.
