Get Online with Northumberland Libraries

Next month will see Get Online Week help Northumberland residents learn that getting the most out of the internet can be easy and fun.

During the week of 16-22 October, we, alongside other community organisations, will be hosting free digital skills events to help more people to get online safely, confidently, and affordably. This is incredibly important as 6.9 million people in the UK will remain digitally excluded if nothing is done to help them.

Techy Tea Parties will be taking place at a number of libraries across the county and there’ll be lots of friendly support for anyone who wants to start doing a bit more online - and it’s absolutely free. Sessions will be taking place at:

  • Ashington Library - Tuesday 17 October, 10:30am - 11:30am
  • Newbiggin Library - Tuesday 17 October, 1pm - 2pm
  • Prudhoe Library - Wednesday 18 October, 10:30am - 11:30am
  • Hexham Library - Wednesday 18 October, 1:30pm - 2:30pm
  • Allendale Library - Thursday 19 October, 10:30am - 1:30pm
  • Corbridge Library - Friday 20 October, 10:30am - 11:30am
  • Haltwhistle Library - Friday 20 October, 1:30pm - 2:30pm

Learn how to send an email, shop from your sofa, keep in contact with your friends or relatives, search the internet for information or read free eBooks and eMagazines online.

If you need help with your own tablet or device bring it along and library staff can help you.

There will also be the chance to find out more about the 1-1 free sessions we have available in libraries to help people improve their digital skills.
