Youth Employment Partnership
The Employability and Inclusion team is working with North of Tyne Combined Authority and DWP to establish Youth Employment Partnerships (YEPs). Young people's employment opportunities have been disrupted by the Covid pandemic but young people will be critical to supporting economic recovery.

The Youth Employment Partnership will bring organisations together in a coordinated approach to make sure young people get all of the support they need with skills and job search to help them get into good quality work.

To promote the Youth Employment Partnership and ensure it engages young people and employers there will be a series of engagement and promotional events coming up in Northumberland and the other North of Tyne areas.

Kay Vout is the new Youth Employment Partnership Coordinator in the Employability and Inclusion team, working with services and projects supporting young people, to make sure they are engaged with the support they need to move into good jobs. Kay can be contacted at kay.vout01@northumberland.gov.uk

Equally, working with businesses is critical to promote the benefits of employing a young person and identify opportunities they can offer. Graeme Blyth is supporting the YEP as an employer engagement worker in Advance Northumberland. Graeme can be contacted at graeme.blyth@advancenorthumberland.co.uk

Listening to Young People

Listening to young people will help Northumberland County Council ensure they are getting the kind of support they need and it will be key to making sure the partnership works well.

As part of this we have put together a short survey to help young people get all of the support they need with skills and job search to support them into good quality work.

To help us understand this better please take 5 minutes to complete the short survey:
