Personal Health Budget & Continuing Care Packages

Personal Health Budgets offer more choice and control over the support and services you get. Continuing Care Packages provide support when needs can’t be met by existing universal or specialist services alone.

A personal health budget is an amount of money to support the health and wellbeing needs of you or someone you care for.

They are designed to improve the healthcare of you or the person you care by offering more choice and control over the support and services you get.

Children and young people may receive a "continuing care package" if they have needs arising from disability, accident or illness that can't be met by existing universal or specialist services alone.

To be eligible for NHS continuing care, you must be assessed by a team of healthcare professionals (a "multidisciplinary team") as having a "primary health need".
