Your local offer

The Northumberland Local Offer is a free and impartial service provided by Northumberland County Council. We provide information about what is available in Northumberland for children and young people aged 0- 25 years with special education needs and or a disability (SEND) and their families.

This includes information about services and support such as things to do and advice and guidance on education, health, social care and transport. 

Our Local Offer website has been planned and produced with parents, carers, services across the local authority and health, schools, colleges and early years settings and voluntary sector colleagues. 

You can find a list of key documents including Special Education Needs and Disabilities strategy and planning documents.

This includes information about how many children and young people with special educational needs and their families we support, services and information on schools, inspection reports and funding.

We are aware that some families in Northumberland may access services provided by other local authority areas.

You may for example live in the county but your child may attend a North Tyneside or Cumbrian school. You might live in Northumberland but access some health provision in Newcastle upon Tyne.

To help such families this page provides links to other Local Offers that are available by neighbouring authorities. By clicking on the relevant link you will taken into the Local Offer for the local authority you have chosen.
