A new Parent Carer Forum is currently being established in Northumberland by the charity Contact.

Contact is a charity for disabled children. They are working in Northumberland to ensure that there are new and effective arrangements established, so that the voices of children, young people, and their families continue to inform the work we do.

Results of the SEND survey: Understanding the impact of COVID-19 on children, young people and their families

We carried out a survey between 6th July and the 14th August 2020 to find out about the impact of COVID-19 on children, young people and their families with SEND in Northumberland. We received the largest number of replies to a SEND survey, with 426 families replying and sharing their experiences. Thank you.

The findings show the impact that lockdown has had on family mental health, describe the challenges of home-schooling and the ongoing worry families have about keeping their children safe during the pandemic. The report can be accessed in two formats
