The Autism Support Team offer school based support to children and young people who have social communication difficulties or a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Due to the current situation, and following national guidance, it is best to contact our team via the email address provided: email@example.com
Messages will be checked regularly and we will get back to you as soon as we possibly can.
The team aims to develop and enhance the skills and practices of school staff and improve educational outcomes for children and young people with social communication/ASD in educational settings across Northumberland.
We offer Cygnet Training for parents of children with a diagnosis of ASD that has been confirmed by Northumberland Children and Young People's Service (CYPS) or Northumberland Early Communication Clinic.
Our team members work closely with parents/carers, school staff and the young person to promote successful inclusion in the classroom. We provide written reports that outline key observations, information, strategies and approaches that should be incorporated into teaching programmes and classroom practice.
SENCos (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) can request support from the Autism Service by completing the SEND Support Services ‘Request for Support’ form. All requests for support require signed parental consent. Please click on the links below to access the documents.
