Community Health Champions

There are three roles to chose from as a Community Health Champion:

Sharer: By signing up as a Sharer, individuals are agreeing to receive Public Health updates and campaign resources, which they can then share with their community and social networks.

Shaper: By signing up as a Shaper, in addition to agreeing to receive Public Health updates and campaign resources, individuals are invited to attend quarterly message shaping meetings via Teams. Message shaping meetings will give people the opportunity to give us feedback on the information received via the mailing list, as well as helping us to shape health messages for the needs of their community.

Individuals who sign up as a Shaper will be sent a link to a 'Making Every Contact Count for Champions' webinar, which is designed to help develop peoples skills and knowledge in sharing health messages and having health related conversations.

Supporter: By signing up as a Supporter, individuals are registering their interest in a formal volunteer position with Northumberland County Council. Within this role, individuals will support Northumberland's Health Trainers and wider Public Health team.

Full training is provided for the role of a Supporter, including a volunteer induction and Royal Society of Public Health Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement.

Please note: The role of a Sharer and Shaper is not formal volunteer role, therefore individuals are under no obligation to give their time. Individuals must be ages 16 or over and live or work in Northumberland.

If you would like to sign up as a Community Health Champion, please complete this form and select which role you would like to sign up for.
