Motor homes and other large vehicles

It’s important vehicles only park in bays of an appropriate size. If you’re using our off-street pay and display car parks, it’s fine to take up more than one bay providing you pay for all the bays you are using.

The council assessed its coastal car parks and identified three locations where self-contained motorhome vehicles can park for an overnight stay allowing the occupants to sleep in their vehicle. There is no provision however for items of equipment to be placed outside of the motorhome and no on-site facilities available which is why vehicles must have washing, toilet and waste storage facilities on board. The aim is purely to provide a single night’s stay as a transit type activity. These sites have been agreed in consultation with town and parish councils.
