Local Land & Property Gazetteer
(LLPG)
The LLPG is a single, definitive address and
street dataset (which includes a position on a Map) and delivers
significant cost savings across the authority. This is through the
provision of a single database that assists with the streamlining
of services, reduces duplication and facilitates partnership
working. The LLPG team enhances integration between service
functions and forms the corporate information resource required to
support the achievement of policy objectives, such as route
optimisation, customer relationship and asset management.
It can also increase operational benefits for
all users. The team will continue to develop and maintain
Northumberland’s gazetteer ensuring a consistent and thorough
approach to data quality, any new developments must be compatible
with the current gazetteers and British Standard (BS7666).
The team’s role also includes developing the use of the gazetteer
to meet the business needs of the authority both in established
areas and through pro-actively seeking new areas where information
and technology will improve operational performance, cost savings
and service delivery to the public. In addition, the team
will continue to submit data to the central hub for continued
compilation into the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG)
fulfilling our legal obligation under the Data Cooperation
Agreement (DCA) and the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA).
LSG Local Street Gazetteer (LSG)
The LSG is a single, definitive street dataset
information for England and Wales collected at source from the
originators of street change intelligence. The LSG is
continually updated by highways authorities and changes are
incorporated into it every month at the national hub where it
becomes the NSG ( National Street Gazetteer ).
The LSG is the only dataset built to
BS7666:2006 standards that incorporates all public, prospectively
adopted and private streets in England and Wales. The Unique
Street Reference Numbers (USRNs) and the Elementary Street Unit
(ESU) reference numbers provide a national unique identifier. This
allows users of the LSG to tie their data together across
applications making sharing of information corporately and across
industry seamless and efficient. Enabling cashable savings by
interlinking disparate datasets and systems.
