Event at Alnwick Gardens (March 2010)
March 13 - 14 saw many North East Teachers
attend the Family Fun Science Weekend at Alnwick Gardens at
which North East Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Schools
showcased ideas under the 8 Sustainable Doorways.
Newminster Climate Crew
Newminster Climate Crew joined in the fun by
encouraging teachers and members of the public to make an energy
saving 'Pledge'. Each 'Pledge' was written on a leaf and
added to their 'Pledge Tree'.
The Climate Crew where chosen due to their
outstanding work towards reducing energy bills at the school.
Pupils monitor energy usage and do regular ‘walk rounds’ to switch
off un-needed lights and computer monitors.
