The County Library Service operates four mobile libraries from
bases across the County, serving people in villages and remote
rural areas.
Mobile libraries are accessible to people of all ages including
those who are unable to visit the library owing to illness and
disability. Mobile libraries have a passenger lift to help those
who cannot use steps.
Mobile libraries carry a wide range of books for adults and
children as well as a good selection of video cassettes and audio
books for hire. Some of our mobiles now carry DVDs for hire,
too.
You can request any item not on the shelves for a small charge.
Mobile libraries also offer a gateway to information services
throughout Northumberland and beyond.
The Mobile Library Service is open to everyone and it's free.
Contact Karen Sutcliffe on 01661 823594 to see if a mobile visits
your area or check the Mobile Library Routes page.
