How to join the library

It's free to join the library. If you are over 16 years old all you need to do is fill in a brief Membership Application form and show one form of identification giving proof of your name and also your address.

Examples of acceptable ID are:

• Driving licence
• Child benefit book
• Recent gas, electric or telephone bill
• Bank statement

Children and young people under 16 years old will need to get a Member's Joining form  countersigned by a parent or guardian.

Once you join you are able to borrow items immediately and use your library card at any Northumberland branch library or mobile library to borrow up to a total of 20 items at any one time.
