Bus Stops

Information regarding Bus Timetables and Services

All enquiries about bus stop timetables and services should in the first instance be made to the Integrated Transport Unit bus@northumberland.gov.uk  or 01670 624092 at Northumberland County Council.

 

Reporting Damage to Bus Stops

If you wish to report a damaged or a dangerous bus stop or one that has been involved in an accident, please phone 0845 600 6400 (24hours). Report a Damaged Bus Stop

 

Requests for New Bus Stops

If you wish to propose a new site for a bus stop, please contact the Highway Project Planning Team busstop@northumberland.gov.uk or 01670 624114 in the first instance, although all locations will be subject to conformity to the Bus Strategy and available funds.

 

Bus Shelters

Enquiries regarding existing bus shelters in rural Northumberland

Where a Town or Parish Council is available, they are the responsible body for maintaining and location of bus shelters and all queries should be directed to the relevant Town or Parish Clerk. (Parish Council Contacts Page)

 

Enquiries regarding existing bus shelters in urban Northumberland

Where there is no Parish or Town Council available or where there was prior to 1st April 2009 a District or Borough Council (i.e. Berwick-upon-Tweed town and within Blyth Borough and Wansbeck District areas), the Neighbourhood Services team for your area may retain responsible for cleaning, maintenance and repair of bus shelters and all queries should be directed to the relevant area office Contact 0845 600 6400 or contactcentre@northumberland.gov.uk

 

Requests for new bus shelters

Members of the public who wish to request a bus shelter in their area should in the first instance contact their Parish or Town Council. (Parish Council Contacts Page)
