Library visitors in the Berwick area are in for a treat shortly when best selling author Chris Cleave visits Berwick Library.
Best selling and award winning author Chris Cleave is to visit Berwick Library on Thursday 13 May 7.30-9.00 p.m. as part of his national tour.
The author of two bestselling, award winning and thought provoking novels ‘Incendiary’ and ‘The Other Hand’, has committed 2 days a fortnight to live events at public libraries across the country.
The event is being organised by Northumberland Libraries in conjunction with the Reading Agency’s Reading Partners initiative.
Chris will talk about his work and the work of some of his favourite contemporary writers. He will also be sharing some of the real life stories behind his novels and read from his work.
During the interval light refreshments will be served and there will be a chance to buy signed copies of the author’s books.
Tickets for the night are £4, which includes a glass of wine or soft drink. They can be purchased in advance from Berwick Library. Contact Diane Wright on 01289 334051 or email: Diane.Wright@northumberland.gov.uk
County Heritage and Libraries Manager, Marguerite Gracey said: “The Library Service has a vital role to provide good books and bring authors and readers together. I’m delighted that Chris is coming to Berwick Library and I’m sure it will be a fun and informative evening for everyone.”
