A partnership, including Northumberland County Council, has announced a youth democracy session to be held in Alnwick.
The session to be held at Alnwick Community Centre on Friday 23 November and is open to those aged 16 to 24.
The aim of the event is to identify issues that affect young people. The ideas put forward will be used to plan a county-wide event on 15 March 2013. Refreshments will be provided.
Councillor Lesley Rickerby, executive member for children and young people at Northumberland County Council, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to make their voices heard. Engaging young people in the political process is so important and we are keen to work with others to make achieve this.”
The partnership includes the Alnwick Youth Forum, Respect Equals Change, SpLinterGroup, Teenage Pregnancy Peer Mentors, Young People in Northumberland, Youth Cabinet, Youth Parliament and Wansbeck Out With It.
