More opportunities to have your say on county plan

10 July 2012 ( Archived )

There are still opportunities to find out more and have your say on a key document for the new Local Development Plan for Northumberland.

Northumberland County Council is currently consulting on the ‘Core Strategy Issues and Options’ document, and as a result of high demand, some further consultation events have been added.

A drop-in event and a workshop session are planned on Thursday July 19 at the Memorial Hall in Ponteland.  The drop in event is open to anyone and will run from 2pm to 6pm and the workshop session can be attended by prior registration only, from 7pm to 9pm.

At these events the council would like to hear your views on key issues for Ponteland such as:-

  • Housing – future needs;
  • Jobs – where to accommodate work opportunities;
  • Town centre – how to keep the town centre vibrant; and
  • Green Belt – whether the Green Belt boundary is still correct.

This is your opportunity to help shape the future planning of Ponteland and its surroundings, and of Northumberland in general.

Spaces are limited for the workshop session so if you are interested in coming along please register your attendance by emailing planningstrategy@northumberland.gov.uk or phoning 01670 623629.

A further drop-in event is also being planned in Longhorsley Village Hall on Tuesday July 31 from 2pm to to 7pm.
