Heritage Open Days 2012 announced

Northumberland is excited to announce its participation in the annual Heritage Open Day which takes place from 6 to 9 September this year.

 

The four day event which is in its 8th year is a dedication to England’s architecture and heritage. Organisers aim to allow local people to take advantage of many cultural and historic properties in their locality, for free.

 

Heritage Open Days is England’s biggest and most popular voluntary cultural event. With visitor numbers last year reaching 1.7 million visitors, an all-time high, this year is sure to be a huge success.

 

Events will be announced in July so keep an eye out for events in your area including tours and activities for all ages. Several other historical attractions that normally charge admission will also opening for free as part of the weekend’s festivities.
