Northumberland County Council is to use social media to help keep residents informed about the torch’s journey through the county and is asking for help from the public.
The council is planning to tweet the torch through Northumberland and would like anyone with a twitter account who is planning to watch the torch to let everyone follow its progress by tweeting a message of support as it passes you by.
You can also send the county council images of the torch or activities that are taking place along route. The council will try to include as many as they can in their Olympic torch relay gallery.
All you have to do is add the Hashtag ‘#NlandTorch’ to your message and the council will re-tweet it to all of its followers on @EventsNE http://twitter.com/EventsNE
