Well over three quarters of companies see Apprenticeships as
key to long-term business growth and recognise the importance of
investing in skills and training for surviving the current
recession, according to research published by the National
Apprenticeship Service (NAS).
Most employers believe that taking on an apprentice is a sound
long-term business investment, with over two thirds confirming that
employing an apprentice improves overall business performance and
productivity.
With the current economic downturn putting more emphasis than
ever on businesses remaining competitive by nurturing talent,
Apprenticeships play a key role in developing a skilled workforce
for the future and supporting the region’s future economy.
Apprenticeships can help to stimulate growth in your business and
help you to weather the storm of recession, whilst helping in
preparing your businesses to take advantage of stronger conditions
when the recession begins to pass.
Many companies in Northumberland and the north east are backing
Apprenticeships and hosting non-employed young people in full time
work placements and supporting them with a weekly training
allowance.
But there is a need for more employers to provide opportunities
to apprentices.
We are looking for employers in a wide range of sectors who can
offer Apprenticeship placements in construction, customer service,
information technology, business administration, and early years
and childcare.
It’s never been easier for your company to capitalise on the
many benefits that Apprenticeships offer. We can provide free
advice on what taking on an Apprentice will mean for your business,
explain the great value you’ll get for under £6k a year, advise you
on how we will support your company through the Apprenticeship, and
how we can pitch your vacancy with the new National Apprenticeship
Service to attract great applicants.
Interested? Then call Karen, Dave or Jane on 01670 622114
for more information. You can also find out more about what a young
