Council Tax Change of Address

If you are moving house or are new to the area you must inform the Council Tax team.

How do I inform you of my new address?

The easiest way to register a change of address is by telephoning the contact centre on 0845 600 6400.  This will ensure all council departments are advised of your new address.

Please print off the form, complete the relevant sections in block capitals and black ink and send it to;

How do I change my Direct Debit details?

If you need to make changes to your existing Direct Debit details or wish to set up a new Direct Debit, 

You can change your Direct Debit details online

or you can call  our contact centre on 0845 600 6400 (Mon - Fri 8.30am - 5pm) who can amend your details

Will I be entitled to a discount on my Council Tax?

You may be entitled to a discount on your Council Tax if your circumstances have changed.

How do I find out what my new charge will be?

If you are moving to another property within Northumberland,
see what the charge is for each property band within each parish.
You may also telephone the contact centre on 0845 600 6400 who will be able to advise you of your new band and charge.

 

I am leaving the Northumberland area, how do I find my new property band?

If you are moving out of the Northumberland area and are unsure which Authority you need to contact you can obtain further information from the GOV.UK website.

 

How do I notify you of a deceased person?

To notify the Council Tax team of a deceased person please telephone the contact centre on 0845 600 6400 or you can do it online.
