the Finance Directorate and provides a full range of accounting
services for the Fund, together with servicing and support to the
Council's Investment Panel.

Northumberland County Council Pension Fund is prepared by staff in
the Finance Directorate for each year ended 31 March, showing the
income, expenditure and net assets of the Fund.

Funding Strategy Statement
All Local Government Pension Scheme Funds must
have a Funding Strategy Statement (FSS). The purpose is to
establish a strategy, specific to the fund, to identify how
employers pension liabilities are best met going forward.

An annual business plan for the pension fund
is approved by the Pension Fund Panel at it's quarterly meeting
held in February each year.

All Local Government Pension Scheme Funds must
have a statement of investment principles (SIP). The purpose is to
describe the Fund's policy on the investment objective(s), the
types of investments held, the attitude to risk and the share
voting rights.

Governance Policy Statement and Statement of Policy Concerning
Communication
The Local Government Pension Scheme Funds must
have a Governance Policy Statement and a Communication Policy
Statement. The purpose of the Governance Policy Statement is
to describe the administering authority's pension fund governance
arrangements. The purpose of the Statement of Policy
Concerning Communication is to set out the administering
authority's policy on communicating with fund stakeholders such as
employees and employers.
