Home Library Service
also known as: Housebound Library Service.
This service delivers books free to your door if you are unable to visit the library yourself.
It's the library service delivered FREE to
your door if you are unable to visit the library yourself, and have
no - one to visit on your behalf.
- You can choose what you want to borrow -
books, CDs, DVDs or talking books.
- You can tell us what you like to read and
what you don't.
- You can choose how many items you
borrow - up to 20 at a time.
- A volunteer will bring the books to your home
every 4 weeks at a time that suits you.
If you would like to receive the service,
please complete the Customer
Application form and return it to the address on the
form.
Home Library Service Volunteers Needed
Help us make a difference to people in your
community by volunteering for the Home Library service.
Northumberland Libraries wants to make its
service accessible to everyone. We are looking for volunteers to
deliver books to people who are unable to leave their homes and who
don't have anyone to visit the library for them.
The Volunteer's Role:
- You will deliver books, CDs, DVDs and
talking books to people in their own homes. Visits are once
a month.
- If you are keen reader, you can choose
the books for your customer but library staff will do
this if you prefer.
- If customers request a particular book,
simply pass it on to library staff.
If you feel you can help by becoming a Home
Library Service Volunteer, please complete the Volunteer
Application Form and return it to the address on the
form.
