Declarations of
interests
Members are required by law to declare certain interests when
they become a councillor. These interests include the name of their
employer; details of any land or house they occupy within the
council's area; interests in companies
and securities in which they have substantial interests which
operate in the borough; and other financial interests.
Under the Council’s Code of Governance councillors are also
required to declare gifts they accept and any offer of a gift
(whether accepted or not).
