Federated Schools in the Alnwick Partnership

The Governing Bodies of Alnwick South First School, Lindisfarne Middle School, The Duke's Middle School and The Duchess's Community High School have agreed to create a hard federation between the four schools following consultation on the proposals. The federation is Children at schooleffective from January 2009.

Under the hard federation, the incumbent governing bodies of the four schools will be disbanded and a new governing body covering all four schools set up in their place.  This will bring continuity of education across the school phases as well as other benefits. There will continue to be a headteacher at each of the four schools.

Reorganisation of Schools  - Putting the Learner First (PLF) Programme

Alnwick Partnership has been identified as one of the first six partnerships in Northumberland that will be consulted on proposals for reorganisation under the Putting the Learner First programme.  However, any reorganisation would require the necessary capital to be in place before consultation on proposals could occur.  Therefore, firm dates for consultation will not be set until such capital has been identified.

We will publish consultation dates on this website as soon as they are confirmed.
