published by The Times from 1785-1985. The text within the images
is fully searchable at the article level. Users can easily search
news articles, obituaries, advertising and classifieds - virtually
everything that appeared in the newspaper.
The Times is the "world's newspaper of record"
and covers all major international historical events from the
French Revolution to the Falkland War. For the first time users are
able to search the full-text of the entire newspaper, including
articles, editorials and advertising.

This is a special version of the well known
Ancestry.com subscription site. It contains census records from
1841 - 1901 for England & Wales and also Scotland. Among the
millions of other records on Ancestry Library Edition are the
Birth, Marriage and Death Index from 1837 to the present.
Ancestry Library Edition is available FREE of charge in all
Northumberland libraries but our licence agreement does not allow
us to make it available from home.
Searchable archive of The Journal and Evening
Chronicle going back to 1995. Available in all branch
libraries but not accessible from home.
Granger's is the definitive source in English for locating a
poem in anthologies on library shelves. First published in 1904,
The Columbia Granger's Index to Poetry is now in its 12th edition.
In 1999, Granger's went online as The Columbia Granger's World of
Poetry. It allows you to search poems by author, first line,
last line, subject key words and then locate them in anthologies.

COBRA is aimed at business start ups and SMEs (Small &
Medium Size Enterprises). It's a comprehensive and versatile
research resource for organisations advising or working with
entrepreneurs and small business owners. It contains approximately
4,000 fact sheets, reports and business
guides. Accessible at all Northumberland Libraries but
our licence agreement does not make it available
from home.

GreenFILE: offers
well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to
the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and
general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green
building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy,
recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts
for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for
more than 4,700 records.

indexes more than 500 core journals, more than 50 priority
journals, and 125 selective journals; plus books, research reports
and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship,

database extends back as far as the mid-1960s

for more than 270 of the most popular teacher and administrator
journals and magazines to assist professional educators.
