This page explains how the Policy & Research Team support the development of policies and priorites for the Council.
The Policy & Research Team is part of the Transformation Service and our role is to help to deliver those Council policies and priorities that are aimed at improving the well-being of the communities in Northumberland.
Co-ordinating the preparing the delivery of the strategic elements of the Council's policies and priorities (mainly the Sustainable Community Strategy, the Corporate Plan, and the Service Plans).
Advising on the implications for Northumberland of emerging and cross-cutting Government policy (including the production of the Policy Digest).
Managing the Council's strategic relationship with partner organisations from across the sectors (through the Northumberland Strategic Partnership).
Translating and interpreting the implications of nationally collected data to the circumstances of Northumberland.
Maintaining accessible 'Area Profiles' at a county and a local level that illustrate the current socio-economic state of the county.
Developing robust approaches to the future forecasting of the county's social demography.
Developing and co-ordinating the Council's over-arching framework for consulting and engaging with the county's communities and residents.
Managing the Council's strategic relationship with the voluntary and community sector.
