NYC Filmmaking Competition

filmig makingThe Northumberland Youth Cabinet is currently planning a filmmaking competition, which will showcase talent for filmmaking and acting of the young people of Northumberland, whilst making a positive contribution to the lives of others,by raising awareness of widespread issues facing the youth of Northumberland, through shorts films made by young people, highlighting issues affecting others and themselves in their area, and through showing ways in which the lives of people in Northumberland could be improved. The brief of the competition is to produce a short film which highlights negative aspects or problems in young people’s life’s today, whilst at the same time, showing ways in which life’s can be improved in Northumberland.  The winners will be awarded at an unveiling of the videos sometime in early 2012, with prizes for a winner and two runners up. The competition is anticipated to receive many entries, which will be of 2-5 minutes in length, and will hopefully receive entries from young people of 13-18, the age range which the Cabinet represents.
