Amble Tourist Information Centre

Amble is not simply by the seaside, it is shaped by the sea. The town is built on its heritage as the friendliest port. In Amble Town Square is Europe's largest gnomon (sundial indicator) which is accurate to 15 seconds!

Explore

By foot - Amble Tourist Information Centre can provide information and maps for popular walks including the AONB Coastal Path, St Cuthbert’s and St Oswald’s Way.

Cycling - Amble is on the main route 1 cycle path, maps and guides are on sale for cyclists.

By public transport – up to date information on local bus timetables.

By car – maps and itineraries are available to buy.

 

Warkworth CastleLocal gems

Warkworth Castle is right on the doorstep and overlooks the modern Amble marina which offers berths for yachts and motor cruisers in safe and secure morrings.

Alnmouth - a few miles the north you enjoy a walk on the stunning unspoilt beach.

Operating from Amble Harbour at the dock steps, boat trips last for one hour, sailing out around Coquet Island. A sea bird paradise, home to 40,000 nesting sea birds. Viewing- Puffins, The Rare Roseate Tern, Sandwich Tern, Common Tern, and 600 residential Grey Seals.

Druridge Bay Country Park includes 7 miles of beautiful beach and sand dunes, as well as 100 acre lake surrounded by woods and meadows. The site is popular with dog walkers.

Holy Island, the Jewel in the Crown of Northumberland’s coast easily reached by car – ask for safe crossing times.

Purchase discounted tickets for Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Bamburgh Castle and Paxton House. Tickets are also on sale for Heatherslaw Mill and Lady Waterford Hall and the Heritage Explorer Pass.
