also known as: Adult Placement, Carers, Shared Lives.
Shared Lives Northumberland provides supported accommodation in ordinary family houses for adults who have a disability, mental health problem, or people who are unable to live independently because of their age.
What is Shared Lives Northumberland?
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Northumberland
County Council recruit Shared Lives carers to provide Shared Lives
services. Shared Lives Northumberland (which used to be called the
Adult Placement Scheme) provides a home to support people aged 18
and over who have a disability, mental health problem, or people
who are unable to live independently because of their age.
These include:
- long-term placements
- short breaks
- emergency placements.
