Hundreds of Easter Eggs donated to Blyth families in need

More than 300 chocolate Easter eggs have been generously donated to help Blyth families in need.

Active Northumberland staff and members at Blyth Sports Centre have collected an eggcellent 324 Easter eggs. These have been donated to Community Food and Friendship at Blyth, a small, registered charity that provides support for families and vulnerable people in the town.

Active Northumberland Advanced Fitness Instructor Andrew Pearson who works at Blyth Sports Centre said:
“For struggling families, things that others take for granted, like buying Easter eggs can be a challenge and cause added pressure, with many children feeling like they are missing out.

“One of our members is a volunteer for the charity and so we organised the collection as we didn’t want any child to miss out on the joy of Easter.

“It is wonderful to see how many people have donated and it really shows the compassion and kindness that exists in Blyth Sports Centre. Thank you to everyone who contributed. I am sure this fantastic collection will put a smile on a lot of children’s faces this Easter.”
