Two professional networking events were held in North Northumberland earlier this week with the aim of raising awareness of the services and support available to help young children and families in need.
Over 20 organisations and agencies attended the events in Alnwick and Berwick to spread the word about their services and the work that they do in the county.
Among those present were Northumberland Adolescent Services, Early Help and Children’s Social Care, Barnados, Berwick Community Trust, NHS Speech and Language Service, Northumberland Domestic Abuse Service, Health visitors, Northumbria Police, NHS Adult Care and NCC Special Education Needs Communications Support.
Deputy Leader of Northumberland County Councillor Wayne Daley, cabinet member with responsibility for children’s services said:
“ The day provided the opportunity for a range of professionals who work with young children to come together to talk to each other about their services and how, through partnership working, they can complement and support each other.
“ The event was really productive and proved particularly beneficial for schools, early years settings and representatives from health services who are often the first to identify children with emerging needs and who may require early help and support.”
