Create your own hanging basket at Hepscott

02 May 2017

With spring now in full swing, why not pop along to  Hepscott Park later this week  to create your very own colourful hanging basket.

A series of hanging basket workshops will be taking  place  on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 May  at the Hepscott Park Horticultural Skills Unit , Hepscott Park which is adjacent to the Garden Cafe. The sessions  cost £9 . This  covers the cost of the plants, the hanging basket and assistance from a resident plant expert.

The Horticultural Skills Unit is a Northumberland County Council service which provides adults with learning disabilities  the opportunity to learn and practise gardening skills.

All plants have been lovingly  grown from either seed or cuttings so the plants are hardier than those imported from Europe. What’s more, any proceeds from the workshops will be reinvested back into this important service.

The event will be fun and informal and open to all ages. There is no need to book. Just drop in between 10-30am - 4pm on either day.
