Amendment to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy
 
The consultation process for you to comment upon proposed amendments to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy.  The proposed amendments were considered and endorsed by the Council’s Licensing and Regulatory Committee on 20th June 2018.
 
A formal consultation on the amendments to the policy will be conducted during the period Monday 25th June 2018 to  27th July 2018.. 
 
The Council seeks the views of any person or body likely to be affected by, or has an interest in, these matters.
 
The proposal relates to changes to the guidelines relating to the Relevance of Convictions for applicants.

Increase in Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Fees  
We are consulting on new fees for hackney carriage and private hire drivers licence fees.
 
The proposed fees for hackney carriage or private hire drivers licences are:
 
1 year licence        £ 78
2 year licence        £112
3 year licence        £146
Additional Licence   £30

Amendment of Hackney Carriage Tariff  
We are also consulting on a new hackney carriage tariff for Northumberland.

This proposed new tariff will replace the existing tariffs which are linked to the 6 hackney carriage zones and will standardise the maximum hackney carriage fares and charges across Northumberland.


 

Statement of Gambling Principles - Consultation

Northumberland County Council as the Licensing Authority under the Gambling Act 2005 is required to publish a statement of the principles which they propose to apply when exercising their functions under the Act.

The statement must be reviewed and published every three years. The Council’s current Statement of Principles is due to be republished by January 2019.  

Northumberland County Council has issued a draft Statement of Principles 2019-2022 for consultation. The draft Statement details the principles that the Council proposes to apply in exercising its functions under the Gambling Act 2005.
